Good Father's Day Gift Ideas

Start thinking ahead now for a great gift for your Dad. Your father has probably received enough ties, cologne and shaving equipment to last him a few lifetimes and if you want to get him something to show how much he means to you, yet you want to get him something he can really use - use these tips to narrow down a great Father's Day gift for your Dad.

If you're father is a sports buff, get him a pair of tickets to his favorite team's upcoming game or even better score him a set of season tickets to his favorite sports teams game.

Music is another great gift idea. If your Dad enjoys the big band sound to the hip hop of today - get him a small collection of CDs or better yet - get him an MP3 player and load it up with his favorite music.

Dads that love photography will enjoy the gift of a new camera. A book on photography tips will also be appreciated and make it a digital camera so he can easily upload, edit and send out his photographic masterpieces to share.

Is Dad a fan of poker? Get him either table top poker table or a full blown solid table to enjoy his favorite game at. A table top that fits over his existing table will be great if he is an occasional participant. If he's an avid player, get him a full sized poker table and a new set of casino style poker chips to use when he plays.

Use these ideas to make your next Father's Day gift one that Dad will treasure for years to come.

Tips For Choosing a Poker Table

A poker table is simply a table that is made for playing cards at. There are many types of poker tables and there are qualities in different types of tables that will work for different people, it's just a matter of choosing what you want.

A good poker table is one that you and your friends can enjoy playing cards at. One of the main features of a good poker table is a roundness or octagonal shape. This enables everyone to be facing everyone else all times and will allow for more players to be seated as opposed to a square table. Also it is important for all players to have equal access to the middle of the table.

A good smooth surface is also a necessity. The cards should be able to slide easily without turning over unexpectedly. Wooden poker tables should be finished to a high polish to make them slick. Sturdiness is another factor that you will need in a poker table. With all the players leaning on the outside of the table with their elbows and the occasional slapping down of cards, a poker table has to be strong enough to take a little abuse from the players.

Size is another consideration, the poker table should be a size that allows all players to reach the middle without having to stand up or lean too far into the table.

How often you play poker will be another factor in choosing your poker table. If you only play occasionally, a poker table top that fits over another table will be useful and can be put away until you need it. If you play on a regular basis, a full poker table will be in order to meet your needs.
