Roulette


What does Roulette even mean? In french it means small wheel. At the beginning of the game, you place your bet on which the ball will land on: color, number, odd or even, or a range of numbers. The croupier, or dealer, will spin the wheel in one direction and will spin the ball in the opposite direction that the wheel is turning. The ball will eventually fall in to one of the colored and numbered slots and who ever has the corresponding number, color, or range, wins.

The game has been played in this form since it started in Paris in 1796. Since then, people of all kinds feel that they have the winning strategy to beat the roulette wheel, however, there is no real way to win. The only ideal way to at least get your original bet back is to double every bet after a loss to ensure you at least get what you started with, provided you eventually win before you run out of money. Mathematicians and computer scientists have all tried their hand at cracking the likelihood of the ball falling in to a certain number, or type of number (odd or even).
